The questions worth asking a distributor.
Including the uncomfortable ones. If something here is not answered plainly enough, ask us directly and we will fix the answer.
Are you a SEBI Registered Investment Adviser?
No. NivEdge is an AMFI-registered Mutual Fund Distributor. We help you select, execute and review mutual fund investments, and we are paid a commission by the asset management company. We are not authorised to charge you a fee for investment advice, and nothing on this site is advice.
How are you paid, and what does it cost me?
We are paid trail commission by the AMC out of the scheme's expense ratio. You pay us nothing directly. We will tell you, in rupees, what we expect to earn from your portfolio each year — before you invest, and again at every review.
Why do you cap the number of households?
Because the work does not scale without getting worse. A written note for every position and a real review schedule takes time per household. A small book is the only way that standard survives.
Is there a minimum investment?
There is no hard floor for a first conversation or a portfolio review. Our planning work is built for families and business owners with an existing portfolio, typically upwards of ₹1 crore in investable assets.
What do you need from me to start?
A consolidated account statement from CAMS or KFintech, which you can request free of charge. It is password-protected; we ask for the password only at the point of reading it and we do not store it.
What happens to my data?
We hold only what we need to serve you, and we tell you why at the point we ask for it. You can ask us to erase your data at any time. Statements and identity documents are never shared with third parties beyond the AMC and registrar required to process a transaction.
Can you work with NRIs?
Yes, subject to the scheme's own rules on non-resident investment and the documentation the registrar requires. Some AMCs do not accept investment from certain jurisdictions; we will tell you where you stand before you begin.
